Verse of the Day -

RECOVERY MINISTRIES

Everyone has a habit, hurt or hang-up in life. It is part of being human. Not everyone has help to get them through. At St. Andrews, several ministries related to getting through these difficult parts of our lives are being explored or begun, the purpose of each is to celebrate God’s healing. In addition to the following, we are praying about grief and divorce recovery, which will begin when God raises the leaders with a heart for these ministries.

Don't get tired of doing what is good. Don't get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time. Galatians 6:9 NLT

Though it is sometimes difficult for us to admit, we have all lived less than perfect lives. Our good intentions may have escaped us, which has led us to hurt other people or ourselves and we are left feeling that we have failed, yet again. Our past failures and destructive behaviors leave us trapped and deny us the happiness and contentment of life that God desires for us. This leaves us with feelings of fear, inadequacies, and the acceptance that there is no hope.

There is hope! Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, Biblically based recovery program for individuals and their families who are dealing with these issues. The purpose of Celebrate Recovery is to embrace God’s healing power in our lives, by sharing our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another. Through this process, we become willing to accept God’s grace in solving our lives’ problems, pain, shame, and addictions.

By working and applying the 12 Steps and Biblical Principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictions, compulsions, and dysfunctional behaviors. We break the bondage from the hurts that haunt us; the habits that control us; and the hang-ups that possess us. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the program we discover our personal, loving and forgiving Higher Power- Jesus Christ.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY is open to anyone who wants to find help for real life issues.

A hurt, habit or hang-up is something, anything, that hinders your walk with God.

  • Hurts – Are an emotional reaction to another person’s behavior or to a disturbing situation (abuse, abandonment, codependency, divorce, relationship issue, etc.)
  • Habits - Is an addiction to someone or something (alcohol, drugs, food, gambling, sex, shopping, smoking, etc.)
  • Hang-ups - Is a negative mental attitude that is used to cope with people or adversity (anger, depression, fear, unforgiveness, etc.)
